CCFPA
The Association was formed in December 2006 by a group of enthusiastic volunteers. You can find the contact details of the current members of the non ex-players amongst the ten strong committee on our contacts page and all committee members are pictured below (look out for them on matchdays – all may well be wearing the membership badge)! As at May 2025 there are 343 Full Members (and Honorary Members), all of them former ex players or management of Coventry City FC, and a number of voluntary Associate Members, 64 Honorary Associate Members plus up to 20 Corporate Members. All are listed on our Members page. The Association’s main objective is to provide a forum for former players of the club to meet and communicate whilst at the same time enable the club and the supporters to recognise its former heroes.
To achieve this objective the association intends to facilitate:
- Former players of the club to be welcomed free at home games at the CBS Arena.
- Former players to meet their former colleagues at social and sporting events.
- The club’s supporters and current players to meet the club’s former players.
Membership will be free to all former Coventry City first team players, managers and senior coaching staff.
Every full member will be allowed to attend home league games free of charge with a friend and use one of the hospitality lounges before and after a match.

The CCFPA Committee 2025 is pictured above. Our contact details can be found on our ‘Contacts’ page.
The association organises tribute dinners, golf days and events to bring together the members. Other events such as informal fans forums and reunions are organised to enable the club’s supporters to meet and honour the members. Many of these events are run in conjunction with the football club.
The Association operates completely independently (financially and otherwise) of CCFC and relies upon sponsors and fund-raising to run its events. Coventry City Football Club however fully support the association, partnering us in a number of arenas particularly to help foster greater recognition of the club’s history and heritage.
At Legends Day on 27th March 2010 Joe Elliott of CCFC was presented with a 1960s shirt by his hero and Association Member George Hudson to mark his acceptance of our offer to become the Association’s Honorary Life President. At Legends Day 2012 Terry Yorath was introduced to the Ricoh crowd as our surprise 200th member. Peter Ndlovu became our 300th member in 2024. We are striving to burst through the 350th mark during 2025 and encourage all first team ex Sky Blues to sign up as we seek to maintain our position as perhaps the largest FPA in the country.
As we are not far short of our twentieth anniversary in 2026 we also remember the contribution of previous members of the CCFPA committee over the years, in particular founder and recent past Chairman Jim Brown, and (in alphabetical order) Former Players David Busst and Claus Jorgensen and Moz Baker, Ed Blackaby, Dave Coulson, Sandra Garlick, Gemma McLean, Dean Nelson, Frank Pritchard and Maggie Thompson.
