Legends Day 2025 -4: Pitchside – See CCFC’s Stars Of The Past On Parade!

CCFPA’s Special FP Programme for LD25

In our photo record of a fabulous Legends Day 2025 last Saturday at the CBS Arena in past posts we have already covered the arrival of our close to fifty CCFC ‘stars of the past’. Then we covered some of the splendid sights as our Former Players and their guests lunched together with a packed top floor Premier Lounge full of fans prior to the game. This involved speeches, presentations and multiple question and answer sessions with our returning City heroes from across the club’s playing generations (nineteen fifties to twenty tens).

Yesterday we promised you some coverage of the traditional Legends Day half-time celebrations when our visitors our welcomed onto the pitch one-by-one to receive the acclaim of an appreciative crowd (more than 28,000 fans present at Saturday’s game with Burnley).  Once they are together in the centre-circle a traditional team-photo (below) marking the occasion is taken.

On this page are some photos (taken by our official ‘snapper’ for the day Andy Scaysbrook) of just a few of our Coventry City Sky Blue ‘stars of the past’. They were led out by the oldest CCFC player present, 1950s stalwart Mick Kearns right through the generations including several ‘Boys of 87’ to recent stars like Max Biamou and Fankaty Dabo. All received a wonderful welcome! Pride of place as the last man walking out on the pitch was genuine CCFC Legend Tommy Hutchison.

After the half-time celebrations with the Sky Blues and Burnley tied at one goal each the FPs settled down to watch the second-half (which sadly saw the visitors score a winning goal to take all three points and go top of the Championship).

SBA ‘Live & Die In These Towns’ greet the watching FPs

Look out from tomorrow for coverage on this site of the subsequent stages of LD25 when almost all our FPs followed CCFPA Chairman Billy Bell (and several committee members and helpers) down under the CBS Arena for refreshments laid on by welcoming hosts G-Casino and thence to Lady Gs showbar for some more fun and games on stage before Sky Blue fans!
