Middlesbrough show that they didn’t learn anything from when Coventry’s winger David Smith tortured them at Highfield Road earlier in the season by allowing him to trot between Gary Hamilton and Colin Cooper to set up Cyrille Regis’ opening goal. Bernie Slaven later equalised for Middlesbrough but this game was all about Kevin Poole.
