We are pleased to announce that uncompromising Sky Blues defender James McPake is the first ever winner of the trophy jointly awarded by G-Casino and CCFPA for ‘Player of the Year’.
Fans in the G-Casino have been voting for the Player of the Year after City home games and Quentin Kozma, General Manager of G-Casino and Billy Bell the popular master of ceremonies at the casino (who is also on the Association Committee) are pictured presenting James with the trophy after the Preston home game last Saturday (also pictured is Bob Eales of CCFPA).
James received the award for a number of stirring defensive performances in his first full season at the heart of the Sky Blues defence showing gritty consistency and a tough no-nonsense approach to keeping out oppostion forwards. Though James was kept out of the side against Preston through injury he was fit enough to receive the award and thanked the sponsors in a short speech and was warmly applauded by the all the supporters that had gathered to greet him.
