We are pleased to announce that Shaun Goater has recently joined the Former Player’s Association.
In his playing days Shaun was a dashing, prolific and well travelled forward appearing from 1989 for Rotherham United, Notts County and Bristol City before hitting the headlines with Manchester City (the other sky blues) where between 1998 and 2003 he scored 103 times in his 212 games! He came to the Sky Blues on loan from Reading at the back end of the 2004-05 season and made 6 appearances including 2 as sub before finishing his British career at Southend United.
Awarded an MBE for his services to football in his home country of Bermuda for whom he won 36 Full Caps, Shaun still promotes grass roots football in the West Indies and lives in Bermuda. Though he is unlikely to visit the Ricoh frequently he hopes to be the club’s guest on occasion.
